Two Church Services in 1 Day

After we had lunch, we set off for another church service - this time we drove one hour to there to a place called Kisvarda (20 km from the Ukranian border). Misi, who is the pastor of the first church we went to this morning, does a service at this church on the second sunday of each month. And takes the young people with him.

This was an afternoon service, as it started at 2.30pm, and again I had no idea of what was being said and even the tunes of the songs were not familiar to me. The Hungarian young people got up and sang a few songs, and then after that we got up and introduced ourselves and sand 'Lord I lift your name in high' again.

This service ended with Communion, which we all took. It was very different from Communion at All Souls, as we all went up to the front and knelt down. As Misi put the Communion wafer on my tongue, it reminded me of Angela's Ashes. Then when it came to taking the wine, he just tipped it straight into my mouth. It was an unusual but great experience taking Communion in a different language. Think it was a highlight of my day.

We chatted on the steps of the church for a while and heard the testimony of the church leader's wife, (Edit), and how they came to be in charge of the church. It was all part of a mistake but one that turned out God used.

One night Misi knocked on heir door thinking it was someone's else's house, but Edit and her husband invited him in anyway and thus began a good friendship which eventually led this coupld coming to Christ and being leaders of this Church. God works in all things.
